Asbestos Survey Swanage. Danguard recently carried out an Asbestos Management survey to block of flats in Swanage. When a flat is up for sale the ‘Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012’ state that there must be an asbestos register for the common areas regardless of whether a flat or apartment is to be sold.
The communal areas contained asbestos textured coating and asbestos insulation board to the back of the meter cupboard doors albeit in good condition. However, in the communal parking area Danguard came across some heavily damaged asbestos insulation board (AIB) that posed a potential risk to the residents. It was recommended that this be removed. The damage had come about from an elderly lady regularly driving her mobility scooter into the boxing covering the upright steel girder!
