An Asbestos Management Survey carried out near Christchurch in Dorset today. The property was a 10 bedroom Bed & Breakfast, soon to go on the market.
Our surveyors found a small amount of licensed asbestos in the form of asbestos insulating board (known more commonly as Asbestolux or AIB) in a couple of locations internally. These 2 items will need some remedial works or may require removal. A couple of the rooms also contained ‘Artex’ to the ceilings but until the samples come back from the lab we do not know if they are asbestos containing.
Externally we found asbestos cement undercloaking to the gable ends and 2 asbestos cement chimney cowls. The garage also had asbestos cement ceiling panels internally.
Asbestos cement products are normally classed as low risk when in good condition, however drilling or sanding these products is not recommended.
